The foundation’s aim is to support long-term projects in favour of children and young people in difficult situations in the Barra do Sahy region, with the goal of helping them in their growth and education, while at the same time becoming a strong, trustworthy and solid reference point.
IMUA SAHY
Among its first projects, the foundation is evaluating a collaboration with Fábio Paiva, former Brazilian national champion canoeist and his school of canoeing IMUA SAHY.
The project aims to offer children and students from the Barra do Shay region free courses in Hawaiian canoeing (a particular type of outrage canoe), ideal to learn teamwork and ideal to start experiencing the sea.
The aim of these courses is, on the one hand, to bring children and young people closer to sport and to values such as cooperation, integration and sociality; on the other hand, this activity is on the sea and therefore an effective way raising children´s awareness for environment and nature.
In the following videos (in Portuguese) Fabio talks about courses already realized a few months ago.
Further updates on the IMUA SAHY project and other Foundation activities will be announced on this page.
